Polka! Press is a collective of 8-12 artists and designers who work alongside one another, under one roof, producing a diverse mixture of original printed artworks. Polka! Press promotes a vibrant local printmaking culture by offering access to printmaking facilities, and providing educational opportunities to the Madison community.

Classes are posted on our website periodically.  Check out our range of offerings and sign up for a class!  Classes are taught by our members.



Members of Polka! Press:

Polka has a 8-12 members, all whom are working artists and designers. Membership fees allow us to pay for maintenance of the space and occasional improvements.  If you are interested in becoming a member, please refer to our New Membership Application.

Equipment and Supplies at Polka! Press:

We don’t have a lot at Polka! just yet, but with what we do have, you can do a lot!

• Silk Screen wash-out booth with pressure washer
• Exposure unit
• 6-station silk screen printing table
• Screen storage (limited)
• Showcard Sign Press (suitable for relief as well)
• Vandercook SP-15 (suitable for relief as well)
• Minimal lead and wooden type , wood furniture and other letterpress supplies (please contact us on this as it’s ever-changing). We do not have Boxcar bases at this time.
• Large tables to spread your work on
• Limited Flat-File storage

We continue to build on what we have and can offer over time.

Studio and Vandercook Rental:

Our studio can be rented to experienced printmakers who may not be interested in full membership. Please contact us to begin the screening process.



Private Lessons:

We will consider offering private lessons in various printmaking methods. Please contact us for more information.

Additional Services and Special Projects:
Have a special project you’d like us to do? We have members on hand to assist with a variety of projects from custom printmaking jobs to logo design. Feel free to email us with any inquiries!
