Join member instructor, Heather Buechler, in our introduction to silkscreen course, Silkscreen: The Basics! Our first session begins May 5th!

Class Description:

Silkscreen: The Basics is an introduction to silkscreen printing with an emphasis on flatstock (paper). The class runs once a week for 4 weeks with an optional 5th work session in the final weeks.

Students will become familiar with the silkscreen printing process through the design and completion of (at minimum!) a 1 to 2 colour silkscreen on flatstock. Students will become familiar with vocabulary used in silkscreen printing, learn the process for preparing films for screens, preparing screens for films and the various techniques & factors involved in pulling a successful print.

We will be using Xerox (toner-based) copies with oil as our method for creating a film. It is accommodating to both digital, hand-drawn and handcut films.
